Spider-Man: Brand New Day Villains Claimed To Be Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone

Hot on the heels of the rumors about Steven Yeun and Sarah Snook, it’s being claimed that the Spider-Man: Brand New Day villains include Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone.

Apparently, the info was dropped at the recent Disney Consumer Products show, which also confirmed Conan O’Brien for Toy Story 5.

What is the info?

Consider this unofficial, but a deleted Instagram post says three villains mentioned at the event for Spider-Man: Brand New Day are Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone. Redditors on the Marvel Spoilers sub spotted the post.

There’s no further details but fans speculate Steven Yeun could be playing Boomerang instead of the rumored Mr. Negative.

Update: Additional details reveal the main villain, and leaks about Avengers: Doomsday.

In the Marvel Comics, Boomerang is a supervillain and occasional antihero who was a pro baseball player that got banned for cheating.

Interestingly enough, in a run in the comics from a few years ago, Boomerang becomes Peter Parker’s friend and roommate and even helps Spidey.

It’s known that Spider-Man: Brand New Day deals with the repercussions of Brand New Day where everyone has forgotten about Peter, including MJ and Ned. It’s said Peter gets a new group of friends, so just maybe, Steven Yeun is Spidey’s new buddy?

If the info turns out to be legit, that might mean Michael Mando will be back playing Scorpion.

Tombstone was recently featured in the animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, who’s a local gangster.

Rumors also offer Lady Chameleon could be a villain, possibly who Sarah Snook is playing.

Release info

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a July 31, 2026 release date, directed by Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton.

Joining Tom Holland includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and new to the cast includes Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas.

The plot follows the events of No Way Home where everybody has forgotten about Peter Parker.

“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about,” producer Amy Pascal said in a recent interview.
